Now that the Mill Valley Film Festival has finished celebrating its 45th edition, it’s time for another San Francisco Bay Area film festival to celebrate its reaching a milestone.  This particular festival happens to be one of the U.S.’ oldest documentary-only film festivals, and this year it celebrates turning 25. 

Last night there was a party. A party of freaks, geeks, and artists.  A dance floor full of burlesque dancers, bartenders, and buskers.   A crowd of cacophonists, comedians, cooks, clowns, caterers, and commies.  Politicians, perverts, queers, teachers, writers, progressives, punks and every kind of beautiful San Franciscan one could hope

The Halloween franchise is (probably not) ending with the release of Halloween Ends, a sequel to last year’s Halloween Kills, Halloween (2018), and Halloween (1979), but not Halloween (2007), Halloween II (either of them), or any other sequels and remakes. The franchise has a long history of omitting films from the continuity of new sequels, and after thirteen movies, the timelines are a tangled mess that need explanation. Spooky spoilers ahead!
