It’s been less than seven months since the start of 2023 and with that in mind, it’s worthwhile to take a second to reflect on some of the strangest happenings in one of California’s strangest locales.  

What to do with mine was so clear to me: I had to go to Iran. After a lifetime of my parents always advising me I should wait until my thirties to sojourn to the motherland (something I’ve explored before), here was the perfect opportunity. If Per Sia’s laughter could be bottled and prescribed to help raise your spirits it would fly off the shelves. I was a little giddy to go to meet Per Sia at the iconic El Rio in San Francisco. She is one of the originators of Drag Queen Story Hour
