Similarly, things that were once considered polite, can become old-fashioned or stuffy. There was a time when wearing a hat indoors was considered completely inappropriate.

Oh Aretha, we love you so much! Whether you’re 6 or 66, Aretha Franklin is the music of your youth. If you believe in god, then her voice must’ve been a gift from heaven. If you’re not a believer, then you got to be alive at the same time that evolution created one of the finest voices of all time. Regardless, her gifts and talents were incomparable. The best tiki bar I’ve ever been to is Smith’s Union Bar in Honolulu’s Chinatown. It’s a shitty little tiki dive bar with even shittier karaoke. It’s also the oldest bar on the island. The night I was there it was is was full of Navy dudes, punk chicks, gay guys, and a big hulking, transgendered Pacific Islander.
